By way of Bill Geiger we have a letter from Don Ewing:

Our dear friend Ed Brummer has had the good fortune to become the father of a set of twin boys that appeared on the scene some time during the day of August 22, 1944. When last heard from a few days ago, each weighed thirteen pounds, making a total of twenty-six pounds, no doubt. Their names are Jefferson Sloan and Edward Carlton Jr., and go by the nicknames of Jeff and Jedd (the J of Ed being borrowed from Jr.). The reason this information appears so accurate and statistical is because I have it from the lips of the grandmother, who I have no doubt would like to have this information appear in the next issue. Therefore, if it does not appear, I will have her direct her missive to you direct.

Thanks Don, for your letter. Don himself is in the insurance business with the Mason Agency in Keene, N. H., where he has been associated for the last three and one-half years, and doing very nicely.

We have received news of a couple of additional Service promotions; Bill Walker recently promoted to lieutenant (jg), and Fred Burkhardt who has been made a captain. Incidentally, as I recall, I never did straighten , out an erroneous statement that I made concerning Fred some time ago in connection with his assignment in the Air Corps. We reported Fred as being.a pilot of one of the P-38's and subsequently received a letter from his good wife who straightened us out and told us that Fred was in another division of the Air Corps and as such, helped with the briefing and reports, but was not doing any flying himself. This is something we should have corrected before, and we're glad now of the opportunity to do it. Speaking of promotions, one of the most recent outside of the service came to Bill Wilson who was recently made a vice president of the Kellett Air-Craft Corporation in Philadelphia. Bill will continue to be in charge of personnel and public relations for Kellett, where he returned about a year ago after a long stay at Republic Aviation. Congratulations Bill and good luckl and speaking of Republic, we also understand by way of Bill, that Bill Little is doing a bang-up job in their personnel department and has had numerous promotions since going out there not too long ago. As you probably recall, Bill and his father used to promote lamp shows and other types of merchandise shows around the country, and he's a promoter from way back. One of his most recent jobs at Republic was to manage the War Bond Drive which he did very successfully.

A couple of other jumps, and change of addresses:—Johnny Cogswell, who has been made district manager for the Central Division of the New York Telephone Cos. in Utica. John for a long time was the manager on Long Island at Hempstead. Nice work, John, sounds like a good move. Bill Duncan gives his new address as United States Navy, 1818 Sixth Avenue, San Diego, Calif., and Charlie Mumma has left the hills of Jersey City for about as nice a farm country as I have ever seen when he goes to North Lime Street, Lancaster, Pa. What's up Charlie, how about dropping us a note? And by way of mutual friend of Frank Hodson's and mine, I hear that besides his job as the manager of the Navy Coffee Roasting Plant in Hawaii, Frank has managed to spend some time on the beach swimming and that he looks as brown as some of the natives.

LT. GEORGE PETTENGILL 3rd '32, USNR, has been officially listed as dead. He has been missing in action in the Gilbert Islands since Nov. 24. The lieutenant's obituary appeared in the In Memoriam section of the January issue of the MAGAZINE.
