THE FEATURE ARTICLE in this issue, WilliamJewett Tucker, by Alexander Laing '25, commemorates the 50th anniversary of the administration of one of the College's foremost leaders. Beginning on page 9, Mr. Laing gives a descriptive biography of the life and activities of the man who has been called the "prophet of our opportunity."

Lt. Charles G. Bolte '41 has written a thoughtful sketch of Dartmouth's newest professor and America's greatest living poet in Robert Frost Returns, on page 13.

A world famous invention and its creator, Richard S. Danforth '08, are discussed in the feature Anchor Man, on page 12. Also on page 12 will be found the monthly report of Outing Club activities, With the D.O.C.

An added feature this month is a section of Faculty Notes, which appears following Lettersto the Editor on page 2.

The Cover This month's cover is an informal view of Robert Frost '96, Dartmouth's new Ticknor Fellow in the Humanities, discussing his seminar plans with civilian and V-12 students. It was taken by George Higgins, staff photographer, in Mr. Frost's study in Baker Library.
