THE MEMBERS of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Maine gathered informally at Langley's Restaurant on November 5, to dine, sing the old songs, tell the traditional Dartmouth stories and map a program for the ensuing year.
It is hoped that arrangements can be made for another successful pops concert at which music will be furnished by the Portland Symphony Orchestra and the proceeds divided with the Association for the benefit of the Scholastic Fund.
Daniel Lakeman of the Class of '96 entertained the group with stories of student life 50 years ago, including some comments of "Cav" and the "Iron Major." Drs. Philip Thompson 'O2 and Thomas Foster 'lO added many anecdotes of athletic contests and the Dartmouth participants, in their time at College.
The group was especially pleased to welcome Jim Robertson '2O, whose athletic feats with the famous team of 1919 have become nothing short of legendary. Jim has made Portland his home and will be a permanent member of this Association.
"Cap" Cleveland 'l5 was elected President to succeed Wilbur Banton 'l6, and "Ray" Moulton '35, and Spence Miller '3l were elected Vice President and SecretaryTreasurer, respectively.
