As this is being written to meet a deadline, it will probably miss a lot of news that will be forthcoming in the near future in response to our first newsletter. One of the most interesting letters your secretary has received came from Don Arnsdorf, serving in the Marines somewhere "thousands of miles outside the United States." He writes, "All morning I have been sitting here in a 'foxhole' on a gun watch, and as things are very quiet I decided to write a few letters This life is rather interesting and I like it well enough, but I must admit that I am looking forward to the day when I can go home again. One of the first things I am going to do is make arrangements to return to Dartmouth Write .... and tell me all about the class of '44."

Rog. Feldman is at Syracuse in pre-preflight training, says, "3000 co-eds here but no time to make use of them." Dick Allen is at Cornell Engineering School in V-1. .... "Jamie" Jamison has been working for his father heaving coal and slated for the Naval Air Corps or the regular Navy depending on how he hits the physical for the Air Corps During the past year he was at Upper lowa Univ., where he played center on the football team.

Gene Callaghan is an upperclassman at West Point and starts Air Corps training at Coleman, Texas, soon The plebe class at West Point boasts two '44s, Bud Troxell and Nick Minitas Tom Close is in the Signal Corps, Fort Monmouth, N. J Dick Davis—Army Classification Dept. at Fort McClellan, Alabama—writes, "This is a life of leisure compared to that of G. D. basic training." .... Bruno Larsen is a Squadron Commander at the Army Air Forces Pre-flight Training Det. at U. of Vermont.

Lem Arnold is headed for Chapel Hill this month. He ran into Gus Clucas at the Stork Club recently, and also reports that Bill Hale is a company clerk at Great Lakes, and that Johnny Morse is with PanAm Airlines in Brazil, as an apprentice airport manager, and has linked himself with some unnamed beauty Pete Weston is training to be a gunner in the AAC at Scott Field, Illinois Brack Hazen gives out thousands of dollars every day in the finance office at Fort Hancock, N. J. Hap. Allen is enrolled in a specialized Army course at the Univ. of Penn.

Al Peterson, Jack Shellenberger, Jack Weeks, Dave Scotford, and Bob Rader are all in the Army Air Corps Other Army Air Corps men and their present whereabouts are: Randy Lomas and Bob Rice, Randolph Field; John Cordell, Okla. City, Okla.; Ab Davis, Warren Leopold, Bill Carey, Don Sheridan, Monte Basbas, and Charlie Schumacher are all at Keesler Field, Miss We heard that one day shortly after their arrival Ab and Leo were told to stop smiling in ranks; whereupon they promptly broke out laughing, which earned them a stretch of guard duty.

Dave Eckels is in the cold storage and produce business in Wisconsin, but expects to join the Air Corps soon He says that Gordie Plummer is at M.I.T., studying meteorology for the Air Corps, as is John Furfey Bob Croswell is at the Naval Training Station at Bainbridge, Md Jay Downing is in advanced Air Corps training, expects his wings in June

Bob Smith is in the Medical Corps of the AAC at Reams, Utah Dave McGuire, after enlisting in the Marines as a private, is now a 2nd lieutenant somewhere in the South Pacific.
