Deak Blodgett, as previously noted, is expediting for Grumman, and his itinerary takes him all over the country with no time to rest between trips. He writes that an expeditor seems to be regarded, at some plants, as the lowest form of animal life.

Eddie Pease has been named secretary of the Mutual Boiler Insurance Cos. of Boston. He has been assistant secretary since 1932. He has been in charge of new business during the past four years and has tripled the volume. His new position broadens the scope of his activities and of course adds to his responsibility. His house is one of the oldest and most respected in the insurance field. One more '2ser ringing the bell in clear and loud tones.

Ben Werntz was quoted at length in the New York Times on his talk to the members of the National Screw Machine Products Association, convent'ioning at the Waldorf. Ben sounded off regarding the use of plastics in that industry in the post-war world and did a right nice job, according to the Times.

Pete Blodgett has been upped to assistant vice president of the First National Bank of Boston.

Andy Edson managed to get a short vacation at the Hanover Inn recently.

Doc Tanzer has finally thrown in the towel and quit the field of peace, security, solitude and comfort. That is, he got married. On Christmas Eve he took to wife Lt. Velma Maul of the Army Nurse Corps in Los Angeles. The bride was a former chief stewardess on American Air Lines and health councilor at Frances Shinner College. After a brief honeymoon Lt. Tanzer was ordered to overseas service and Capt. Tanzer returned to his post as head of the plastic surgery service at the Bushnell General Hospital, Brigham City, Utah.

Lane Goss recently lunched with Don Lymans in Washington. Lane is assistant to the chief of the Liberated Areas Division of the State Department. Lane will have quite a bit of territory to cover before the shooting is over.

The Cliff Hills and Ken Hill got together for a short Hill and '25 reunion in Hanover in February.

At the annual Alumni dinner in Boston a good delegation showed up, including Line Davis, Jock Brace, Lin White, Deak Blodgett, Chet Eaton, Bob Rhoades, Jack Spring, Don Hunt, Jim Curry, Pete Haffenreffer, Paul Nute, George Stevens, Jake Penney, George Newman, Bill Sleigh, Les King and Ken Hill. A very, very good time was had by all.

They aint much happened sence the last ritin. They lugged a feller up before me for beating up his wife wunce or twice and I read the warrant to him and says "Dew yew want a lawyer before we start tew consider your case?" He looks awl around the room, at the Sheriffs, the State Perlice and me and says

"Lord no! I'm in enufE trubble now without getting no lawyer mixed up in this mess." Pretty sound judgment I should say. Wun nice thing about this job. In New Hampshire the Hon Jug has to take care of the confistercated goods. Next time the boys nail a bootlegger I shall cawl the Boston Delegashun to come up and give me a hand.
