THE 31 CIVILIAN FRESHMEN who entered Dartmouth last month as the vanguard of the Class of 1948, which is exp ected to number around 200 men in July, have assembled in Hanover from eleven different states, with one man from as far away as India. New York leads with nine representatives, followed by Connecticut with six; New Hampshire and Massachusetts with three each; Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey with two each; and Calif ornia, Texas, Tennessee and Illinois with one each.
Five of the '48 men are sons of Dartmouth alumni; Raymond L. Barrett Jr., son of Raymond L. Barrett '18, Longm eadow, Mass.; Roger H. Dickinson Jr., son of Roger H. Dickinson '23, West Hartf ord, Conn.; Robert Flanders Jr., son of Robert Flanders '14, Manchester, N. H.; John S. Holbrook, son of Charles S. Holbrook '24, Larchmont, N. Y.; and John F.
