Dartmouth's debut in the Eastern Interc ollegiate Wrestling Tournament resulted in a fifth place among the dozen teams represented and gained the Indians a good bit of respect for a strong performance against colleges that have been engaging in the sport over a much longer period of time. The Big Green managed to place four men in the semi-finals, but each lost
out to the man who eventually took the title in his class. Bob Bach, 128-pounder, lost a 6-5 decision to Barkovich of Penn; in the 155-pound class, Ralph Tyler lost a decision to Niewenhous of Lehigh; Captain Pete Fuller dropped an extremely close overtime match by a single point in the 175-pound class; and Larry Mulvaney, in the heavyweight division, was pinned by Captain Stanowicz of the Army team. Since the detachment of Lt. T. L. Wilson for other duty, the wrestling team has been coached by Chief Specialist George Weekes, formerly of the University of San Francisco.
