HERLUF V. OLSEN '22, Dean of the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration, has been elected president of the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business, the sole accrediting agency in the field of university education for business.

A member of the organization for the past few years, Dean Olsen acted as secretary-treasurer from 1940 until his recent election to the presidency. The Association gained prominence in 1941 during an investigation of the "political influence" in the business school faculties in several mid-western colleges. At that time, Dean Olsen defined the Association's objective: "to promote and improve better business education in North America."

After teaching economics for five years at the University of Chicago and the University of Delaware, Dean Olsen joined the Tuck School faculty in 1929 as Assistant Professor and Secretary. He later became Assistant Dean and in 1937, upon the death of Dean William R. Gray, was named Dean and Professor of Business Statistics.
