THE DARTMOUTH CLUB of Melrose held its only party of the year on April 18 at the American Legion Bungalow. A fine turnout participated in the fourth anniversary of our organization.

Cliff Bean '16 introduced our two speakers of the evening with interesting and amusing "sidelights."

Lt. Myles Lane '28 gave us one of the most interesting talks our club has had to date. Emphasizing the part football, and sports in general, has had in building up a rugged stamina and physique, he clearly and forceably pointed out that the results of this training enabled many of our boys to endure and "come through." This all in spite of editorials and sportswriters clamoring for "de-emphasizing" football. Midst humor and seriousness he brought out the psychological "touch" gleaned through many years of study and experience. From football to the Court Room, Myles truly was great.

Our second speaker, Roger Antaya '43 gave us a most interesting slant on the football team of a year ago. Playing with men from Universities all over the country brought together at Dartmouth under the Navy V-12, he pointed out the different reactions of these men as the season progressed. Not to your surprise, nor mine, the majority of these men unanimously agreed that Dartmouth was a pretty good place after all. Many wish to return when the war is over.

Grand movies from Hanover and a cold glass of beer wound up a most enjoyable evening.
