"Slim" Conner Dies
October 1945

SLIM" CONNER, a Hanover personality known to thousands of Dartmouth men, died at his home on August 19 at the age of 36. He had been suffering with a rheumatic heart for five years and had been in poor health for some time prior to that.

"Slim," whose given name, Albert W. Conner Jr., was almost unknown to his Dartmouth and local friends and to the members of the College athletic teams which he followed so closely, was born in Hanover on February 26, 1909, and spent all his life in the town. Dartmouth alumni of the '20's will remember him as "Mercury" who carried messages for the Western Union. In recent years he divided his time between helping his father care for the Dartmouth cemetery and working for Dartmouth Tours.
