THE COLLEGE WILL come close to using its full plant next term with the reopening November 1 of Crosby, Richardson, Topliff, Ripley, Woodward, and Smith Halls as civilian dormitories. In addition, Middle Fayerweather will be opened to house married veterans, while Butterfield, New Hampshire and Russell Sage will continue as civilian residence halls. In all, a total of ten civilian dorms will be in use as compared with only five for the previous term.
Wheeler Hall is being closed for the November term in order to undergo necessary repairs and renovations, and South Fayerweather will also be unoccupied during preparations for its use as a second residence hall for married veterans.
Dartmouth's NROTC and V-12 Unit will continue to occupy the five "ships" used this term—Streeter, Gile, Hitchcock, Middle Mass, and North Mass. Lord Hall and Chase and Woodbury Houses at the Tuck School will remain empty during the coming term, raising to five the number of unoccupied dormitories.
