Christophe went from Manchester and Rowe from Norwood to Sanborn's funeral in Topsfield two days before Christmas

Merrill Boyd's daughter, Priscilla, who speaks six languages and knows Latin, has been transferred from North Africa to Sicily. She is the only American girl in her area and has six Sicilian girls working under her who speak no English. She likes Sicily and its people and is enjoying her work.

Merrill's son Mitchell is still in Wyoming teaching in an artillery school.

Mrs. Boyd is living in Needham at the old home. Her brother, who is writing a book, has been with her most of the winter so that

she has not been entirely alone as she otherwise would have been. It seems that overtures were made to Merrill in respect to two colleges, one in Maine and one in Connecticut, to be president, but he discouraged them. The idea of having to raise money was not agreeable to him.
