THREE POLLS OF STUDENT opinion on three leading questions of the day were conducted recently by the Log, the college's weekly newspaper.
In the vote on "Should the American representative in a world security organization have the power to commit this country-to the use of military force?," 61 per cent of the students taking part in the poll said yes, and 39 per cent voted no.
To the question: "Should Congress pass a law providing for compulsory postwar military training for all eighteen-year olds?" a much larger affirmative vote was cast by the students, a good number of whom are in that age category. The poll was 81 per cent voting yes; 19 per cent voting no.
A close vote was registered on the third question: "Do you think the country needs a work or fight law?" with the affirmative side winning by a narrow margin, 54 per cent in favor and 46 per cent opposed.
