Grounds for Living, the Home Dweller'sCompleat Guide to His Lawns, Trees, & Gardens, edited by Richard B. Farnham arid Robert Van Wie Ingham '28 has been published by the Rutgers University Press. This is a book written decidedly for the amateur and is very profusely illustrated. As many people have been having gardens for the first time in the last few years this volume should be of great value and interest to such. There are nine chapters in the book, each written by an authority on the subject. The chapters are: "Your Home Setting," "Your Lawn," "Your Shade Trees," "Flowers and Plants," "Your Hobby Crop," "Your Vegetables," "Your Best Fruits," "Your Soil," and "Outdoor Construction." All in all the book seems a valuable one for the amateur. The expert, too, will find good advice in it.
