Chairman Basil O'Connor '12 of the American National Red Cross has been awarded medals by two European countries in behalf of the organization's contribution to world humanity, according to a report from Geneva, Switzerland, where the awards were made in conjunction with the International Red Cross conference. Chairman O'Connor was present in his capacity as head of the American delegation.

The medals were presented by the Danish and Bulgarian Red Cross societies in appreciation for American Red Cross aid, not only to themselves, but to other parts of war-ravaged Europe. Principal postwar assistance to Bulgaria was penicillin. In addition to clothing for displaced persons in Denmark, the American Red Cross made it possible for the Danish Red Cross to obtain a large fleet of trucks which it is using today to transport relief food supplies to other European countries.
