As A Repetition of Postwar History Are We Headed for Another Ruinous "Boom and Bust?"
In the face of growing discussion, pro and con, of a coming "boom and bust," the editors have invited two well-known Dartmouth economists to state their personal predictions. Prof. Bruce W. Knight, who thinks that the answer is as definitely "yes" as human factors will allow, has written of the years immediately ahead, with emphasis 011 their postwar nature. Prof. James F. Cusick, who holds the same general view about coming events, defines "boom and bust" in broader terms and therefore tackles the question against the historical background of recurring business cycles, with particular emphasis on investments and savings.
