THE DARTMOUTH CLUB Of Cleveland opened its 1946-47 season with an annual meeting at the University Club on October 4, called to order by retiring President Lee Chilcote '30. About 35 alumni attended the luncheon and the chief order of business was the election of new officers as follows:

President, William F. Steck, '31; Vice President, Howard R. Schuemann, '33; Secretary, Nelson Ranney, '30; Ass't Secretary, John T. AuWerter, Jr., '35; Treasurer, J. Richard Loughry, '34; Ass't Treasurer, Robert L. Fairbank, '33.

In addition to the officers, the Club is operated by an Executive Committee. This Committee consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer plus the two most recent past Presidents, Lee Chilcote '30 and Edouard (Bud) Petrequin '25 and two elected members. At the next regular Friday luncheon meeting at the Mid Day Club, October 11, Robert (Swede) Lindstrom '34 and John Knutson '40 were elected to this Committee.

On October 29 Professor Harold R. Bruce from the College spoke at a special luncheon meeting. He gave a crowd of 40 alumni an account of current Hanover happenings including the athletic program and dealt just lightly with the football situation. That evening Professor Bruce addressed the University Forum at Cleveland College on "Communism vs. Democracy in Today's World."

On Saturday, November 16, we meet with the Cornell Club of Cleveland at the University Club to hear a direct wire broadcast of the football game. We are looking forward to this sociability with the Cornell Club and hope to repeat joint affairs such as this. The cost will be moderate and a large turn-out is expected.

The biggest Dartmouth athletic event for Cleveland in years will be the Dartmouth-Notre Dame basketball game Friday night, December 27, at the Arena. A block of seats will be available for alumni and everyone is urged to attend to see old friends and cheer for the Big Green.

The club is happy to see so many of the younger alumni becoming active in its affairs. On the personal side, we congratulate Everett (Ev) Baker '25 most heartily on his appointment as Dean at M. I. T., sorry as we are to see him leave Cleveland. He was minister of the First Unitarian Church here. Bud Hubbard '33 is back at Cowell & Hubbard following military duty, also Bob Cheheyl '37 and Clark Sorensen '37 with Harris-Seybold-Potter, George Case '29 with Lamson & Sessions, and others yet to be heard from.

Plan now on the Notre Dame game!
