BEGINNING WITH THE Dartmouth House Committee appointed by President Hopkins in 1929, groups of College officers and alumni, including the standing committee of the Board of Trustees on Physical Development and Maintenance of the Plant, have studied plans for the new auditorium building. Following are the successive groups that have worked with the College Architect, Jens Fredrick Larson, culminating with the present advisory and building committees whose final plans were approved by the Trustees this fall:

Dartmouth House Committee, appointed by President Hopkins in 1929: Robert C. Strong '24, Executive Assistant to the President, Chairman; Adelbert Ames Jr., Research Professor of Physiological Optics; William H. McCarter '19, Assistant Professor of English; Leslie F. Murch, Assistant Professor of Physics; Max A. Norton '19, Bursar; and E. Bradlee Watson '02, Professor of English.

Dartmouth Center Committee, appointed by President Hopkins in 1937: Sidney C. Hayward '26, Secretary of the College, Chairman; E. Bradlee "Watson '02, Professor of English and Drama; Halsey C. Edgerton '06, Treasurer of the College, Warner Bentley, Director of Dramatic Production; Lloyd K. Neidlinger '23, Dean of the College; Albert I. Dickerson '30, Executive Assistant to the President; Maurice F. Longhurst, Chairman of the Department of Music; Benfield Pressey, Chairman of the Department of English; and J. Fredrick Larson, Architect of Dartmouth College.

Hayward '26, Secretary of the College; and J. Fredrick Larson, Architect of the College.

EDWARD S. FRENCH '06 of Boston, Life Trustee, is chairman of the Board committee which approved revised plans for the proposed Hopkins Center.
