In recognition of his top performance as Head Agent of the Class of 1957, JosiahStevenson IV (r) received the 1964 John R. Mason Trophy at the April 7 dinner of Alumni Fund Class Agents in New York City. Fund Chairman Rupert C. Thompson Jr. '28, who made the presentation, cited him as follows:

Seldom does the Fund Committee honor a Head Agent after only one year on the job, for this is usually a time of learning and building a strong organization and effective program. You had the good fortune to follow in the footsteps of an efficient organizer and a previous Mason Trophy winner, Tom Schwarz, who built a team of Class Agents which is the envy of all classes. From this point, however, you moved ahead with vigorous and effective leadership to strengthen further your class Fund team, and to set a new all-time contributor record of 570, including 56 new contributors, while exceeding your class dollar goal by 25% to become the first class of your group to break the $10,000 mark. This also brought a well-deserved Group VIII Green Derby victory to the Class of 1957. For these great achievements in your first year as Head Agent, the Alumni Fund Committee takes great pleasure in presenting you with the John R. Mason Trophy, symbolic of your outstanding accomplishments as Head Agent of a class from one to ten years out of College.
