AFTER A WAR-ENFORCED cease and desist of five years, the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Vermont joined the ranks of the active once again on October 9 when about 70 Alumni gathered at the Barre Auditorium to hear President Dickey, Dean Neidlinger and Al Dickerson give up-to-the-minute news of the College and the direction in which it will go in the coming years.

Fred Howland '87, Vermont's grand old man of Dartmouth, spoke for the Vermont Alumni in praising the administration of President Hopkins and lauding the choice of his successsor. On motion of Les Richwagen '23, retiring secretary, the association pledged continued loyalty to Dartmouth and President Dickey and full support of the educational and development program outlined by President Dickey in his speech to the Association.

Of interest to the many Vermont Alumni not on hand was a proposal to divide the association into two or three sectional groups because of long distances to travel for statewide meetings. The incoming officers were instructed to study the problem and give a report at the next meeting. Suggestions should be forwarded to any of the new officers listed below.

A spring meeting in the Southern part of the State is now on the agenda and ample notice will be given all association members.

New officers elected by the members at the Barre Meeting were: President, John A. M. Hinsman '34, Rutland; First Vice President, Hy Abraham '16, Burlington; Second Vice President, Wallace Bertram '31, Woodstock; Third Vice President, Spence "Barney" Norton '28, Vergennes; Treasurer, Bancroft Dwinell '37, Montpelier; and Secretary, Proc Page '42, Burlington.
