I again apologize for not writing a column for the last issue—toeo much eggnog? My New Year's resolution was not to miss another one, though, so here you go.
Brian Wall wrote to say that he and his wife, Wendy, had their second child, Charlie, last June. Charlie the Chunk," who was pushing 20 pounds at 41/2 months, is reported to be a happy baby. Brian sent some adorable Halloween pictures in which "the screaming octopus" (his words, not mine) was Jamie (Parks) Moyer's new baby, Lillian Rose Moyer, born in August 2006. The Moyers live in Denver, Colorado, where the Wall family also lived until moving to the San Francisco area late last year.
In other baby news, Brian reported that fellow San Franciscans Greg Nemet and his wife, Linda, welcomed Pamina Cynthia Nemet last October. Lisa and Sean Macnew had son Ronan Warren Macnew in August 2006. According to Sean and Lisa, "Ronan is an Irish/Celtic name meaning 'little seal' and also sounds like a Japanese name (Ronin) we liked." And Todd Miller and his wife, Sarah, had their second baby, Jaya in the spring.
On the relocation front, Adrian Booth and his wife Jen, just returned to the States (San Francisco) after living in Sydney, Australia, for a year. Also in San Francisco is Phil Gutry in one more bit of news from Brian, Kristi Kimball got married to "Josh" in November 2006
Michelle Rutledge sent the happy news that she and her husband, Rick Mitchell, welcomed their first child, Gray Alexander Rutledge Mitchell, last December. Michelle has been too tired to work out what class their son would be if he attended Dartmouth, but I'll take a stab—2029? (Wow.)
According to Michelle, "Both of us love our work and are enjoying living in the Midwest" (Bloomington Minnesota). After graduating from the University of Miami School of Medicine, Michelle moved to Minnesota to do a family medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic. Rick went to graduate school (biochemistry) at the University of Miami and after obtaining a masters degree moved to Minnesota, where he researched prostate cancer for three years before entering medical school at the University of Minnesota. A 2006 Grad Rick is now in a family medicine residency program at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. Michelle works for Park Nicollet Health Services as a clinical practice director.
Michelle and Rick periodically travel with Elisa Francovilla and in Past years have gone to the Pennsic War (Pennsylvania) with her and several other alums, among them Carla Emmons '96.
