The holiday season brought greetings from many of our members, and from families of several deceased classmates, for which your secretary wishes to express sincere appreciation.
From the Curriers in Elkin, N. C., came the following: "The lovely flowers the Class of '89 sent for our Golden Wedding Anniversary today (New Year's Day) gave Mrs. Currier and me much pleasure and happiness. We hope you will find occasion to extend our thanks to the members who were so kind and thoughtful."
"Fush" Hazen, accompanied by Mrs. Hazen, is again in Southern California for the winter. Their address' is 353 West Alameda St., Downey.
Hardy Ferguson, our efficient Class Agent, keeps well and active, but never too busy to write an occasional letter to your secretary. In January, if traveling accommodation is available, he plans to go South for a visit to Florida —not for pleasure, but called there on professional business.
Both sons of Arthur Chase served in the recent war. The eldest, Lt. Arthur Carlton Chase, Harvard A.B. '29 USNR was recently released from Staff of CINC-Pac. Guam. Richard Davis Chase, Harvard '32 (Engineering 28-30), Chief Carpenters Mate, Construction Battalion USNR has received his discharge. His home is at 315 Dartmouth St., Albuquerque, New Mexico.
John Jerauld Buck, only living son of our late classmate, is married and has two children, Mrs. Arthur Edwin Farnham (Jerauldene Shirley Buck) and Conrad F. Buck. He is connected with the reportorial department of the Boston Herald, and resides at 32 Locust Ave., Lexington, Mass. His mother died in August 1942. Two brothers died in infancy. Three sisters, the Misses Margaret, Katharine and Dorothy—all engaged in secretarial work —live at 33 Grafton St., Arlington, Mass. Fifteen Class Reports have been published since our graduation, the last ten of which (May 1915-June 1940) were issued while David N. Blakely was secretary. Irving E. Sanborn was secretary when the first two Reports (June 1890-June 1891) were published. The succeeding three Reports (March 1893-June 1910) were issued during the secretaryship of James Chester Flagg.
John Alonzo Bradish, University of Vermont B.S. '31, youngest son of our classmate, served overseas (European Theater) for more than two years in the recent war as a major in the Quartermaster Corps. He has returned and, when last reported, was'on duty in Bos- ton, Mass., at Hq. Ist S.C. office of the Q.M., 808 Commonwealth Ave. His youngest sister, Bettine, is married and has one child. Her name is Mrs. Arthur Nichols. Her husband served in England more than two years during the recent war as an officer in the Medical Corps. They reside at 6 Nashua Ave., Annisquam, Mass. Miss Margaret Bradish, the older sister, lives at 7 Primus Ave., Boston, Mass.
