George Bard is back in Nashville, Term., living at 217 Lauderdale Road. During the past year he spent considerable time in Louisville, Ky., associated with his son Robert '19, who had business connections there. His son recently received and accepted an appointment as Birmingham (Ala.), Agent for the Friden Calculating Machine Company. This necessitated his adjusting his commitments in Louisville and leaving there to assume the duties of his new position in Birmingham.
Walter Sullivan, son of our late classmate, has been for the past few years a New YorkTimes correspondent in China and the Far East. His reports on the Korean war in its very early stages were front page news in New York and Boston newspapers. They suddenly ceased, and no word of his whereabouts Came. On October 25 Sullivan took part here in a broadcast of Reporters Roundup, with U.S. Senator Henry Cabot Lodge as guest. During the interview the Senator put a question to Sullivan which he answered carefully and in some detail. Lodge commented that it was a very statesmanlike reply. With the many casualties among our correspondents in Korea, it is reassuring to learn through this broadcast that Sully's son has safely returned home.
