THE first and only meeting of the Dartmouth-at-Shrivenham Club was held in Oxford on Dartmouth Night. A surprisingly good turnout resulted, with twenty men being present at the dinner of which five were prospective students. The majority of those present came from the Shrivenham American University, aided and abetted by several men from Oxford, and one who had come up from Exeter. The meeting featured dinner beer, and recent reports on Hanover and the College by Professor C. R. Bagley (who is lecturing at Oxford for a year), and Professor Francois Denoeu, a member of the SAU French Faculty. Presiding chairman of the dinner was Lt. Col. John Harriman of the Tuck School and SAU Faculties. Certain scurrilous remarks about the Class of '44 were heard from the '46 present but we were evenly represented and, as far as the beer went, the '44s more than held their own.
Unfortunately, in the course of moving, the complete list of names of those present was lost. The names that follow are taken from hasty notes and do not include initials or classes in many cases. Lt. Col. John Harriman, Capt. Wesley Beattie, Captain Haddad, Prof. John P. Troxell, Prof. Francois Denoeu, Prof. Wm. J. McNiff, Prof. Charles R. Bagley, Bob Conroy '44, Bob Bohlke '37, R. J. Tonkin ('50?), Fred Page '44, Paul Pilsbury '45, Ralph Smith '46, Bob Jones '46, Nick Vorhys '46, Malcolm Merritt, Lt. Dougherty ('50?), Bruce Mather ('50?), Doug Lee ('50?), and Maloy and Stern on whom I have no more information than that.
