AT THE FOURTH WINTER COMMENCEMENT at Brown University on February 24, President John Sloan Dickey received the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from that-University. In presenting the degree to President Dickey, President Henry M. Wriston of Brown read the following citation:
"A genuine liberal education as an undergraduate, sound legal training and practical experience in the profession of law, sensitiveness to social problems led to public service in your own commonwealth, and then to high responsibility in the Department of State. These have supplied a rich background for the presidency of one of America's oldest collegiate foundations. To deep respect for past achievement, we add confident expectation and great hopes for the future; as a sister institution we greet you and wish you well in your new post of leadership."
This is the second honorary Doctorate of Laws which has been conferred upon Mr. Dickey. He received the first from Tufts College last October 21.
SOMEWHAT BEHIND SCHEDULE but still going up, these are some of the earliest of the 48 prefabricated houses of Sachem Village being erected for married veterans on Lebanon Street near the football stadium. Until the units are ready the Dartmouth couples, some with babies, are occupying Lord Hall.
