A THREE-DAY discussion, devoted to the place of religion in American higher education, was held at Dartmouth April 5, 6, 7, with Dr. Edwin E. Aubrey, president of Crozier Theological Seminary, as guest leader. A faculty forum, conducted by Prof. Francis L. Childs '06 of the English Department, was held during the weekend, with a public lecture on Saturday evening by Dr. Aubrey on "The Future of Religion in America." In this talk before an audience in Carpenter Hall, Dr. Aubrey emphasized that the future of Christian thinking in America rests in the increased interest of the layman.

UNDER HAZEN FOUNDATION

Other personal and group conferences were included in the three-day stay of Dr. Aubrey, who visited Dartmouth, as well as a number of other colleges, under the auspices of the Edward W. Hazen Foundation of Haddam, Conn., founded some 25 years ago to clarify the role of religion in American higher education. These student and faculty consultations are being sponsored also by The American Council on Education and The National Council on Religion in Higher Education.

Dr. Aubrey was Professor of Christian Theology and Ethics at the University of Chicago before assuming the presidency of Crosier Theological Seminary at Chester, Pa.
