OUR SERVICEMEN MEMEERS of the Detroit Dartmouth Club have been returning one by one over the past months helping to boost our attendance at the weekly luncheons to very respectable totals. In order to better welcome them all back, a "get-acquainted" meeting was held May 24th at the Great Lakes Club in the Hotel Belcrest. Incentives for attendance in addition to the usual good fellowship were a fine buffet supper, "MacNamara's Band" sung by Lyle Chase '12, and some oversized nine-hand card games.

The attendance included Chase '12, Bear '19, Hudson '19, Newcomb '21, Pope '21, Meginnity '25, Whelden '25, Manser '26, Heavenrich '26, Wyles '26, Angel '29, Brabb '29, Brown '29, Jewell '29, Hodges '30, Long '3O, Heavenrich '32, Sumner '33, Ryder '35, Williams '35, Campbell '36, Delbridge '36, Thompson '36, Tracy '36, Williams '36, Randolph '37, Erwin '38, Wiggins '38, Mason '39, Newton '39, Smith '40, Welbourn '41, Moon '42, Bugbee '43, Bennett '43, Jenkins '43, Donovan '43, Weinbrenner '43.

At this meeting an announcement was made by Club President Dave Campbell that a set of Dartmouth plates has been ordered by the club for Dick Brown, our secretarytreasurer. Dick's faithful service in this role over many years has often gone unnoticed by our membership. His efforts in large part helped to hold the club together through the war years. It was with all this in mind that the presentation was made. Due to production delays Dick won't be able to see the plates except in his mind's eye for awhile but we hope delivery will be soon.

Many of our group are now going to or coming from reunions in Hanover. As soon as this period is over we expect to have our yearly golf party, sometime in August.

Recent newcomers to town whom we are glad to add to our growing membership include Newcomb '21, Bowen '37, Randolph '37, Brown '38, Watson '38, Harris '42.

Vacationing alumni passing through Detroit on Mondays are urged to stop for lunch with us. We are continuing to meet through the summer every Monday noon at the Olde Wayne Club and we hope many of you will drop in.
