THE Dartmouth calendar of events has been unusually full the past two months. On December 23 more than 150 alumni and families made the cold trip over to Ann Arbor and cheered themselves hoarse watching the Big Green bounce the Michigan hockey team around to the tune of a 6-3 victory. After being behind 3-1 in the first period, Eddie Jeremiah's boys really turned on the power and won going away.
On December 30, our weekly luncheon was augmented by the presence of some 15 applicants for the fall term. About 25 of the club members turned out along with several of the fellows who are now at Hanover. Al Russell, an end on this past season's team, showed the movies of the Dartmouth-Cornell game. Next time, Al, don't let Bill McCarter give you movies with all the scoring plays removed. Some of the club members still aren't sure who won.
Our annual banquet was held on January 22 at the University Club and was attended by 52 members and six guests, one of whom was Detroit Superintendent of Schools, Arthur E. Dondineau. The speakers from the College were Sidney Hayward '26 and Donald Cameron '35. Both made fine talks bringing us upto-date on current happenings at the College.
An election of officers was held at this meeting with Larry Scoville '26 gaining the presidency. Other newly elected officers were JimTracy '36, vice-president; Dave Campbell '36, secretary-treasurer; Jack Scolaro '42, assistant secretary-treasurer; Dick Brown '29 and ChuckDelbridge '36 to three-year terms on the executive committee, and Ray Welboum '41 and Dick Bugbee '43 to one-year terms on the executive committee.
We are presently engaged in making plans for a concert by the College Glee Club and a dance which will be held during the week before Easter. We have little definite information as to date and location of the party as yet but expect to have our usual good turnout for such affairs. It is hoped that many of the men now at Hanover will be able to attend as the date will be during their spring vacation.
Newcomers whom we welcome to the club are George Borglum '26, Dr. Charles West '30, and Charles Lebeaux '35.
Luncheon every Monday 12:15 P.M. at the Olde Wayne Club.
