WE HELD OUR annual meeting with 26 in attendance and were entertained at
"Windemere," the home of Dr. Douglas VanderHoof '01 on Saturday evening, May 25th. After a swim in the pool and a delicious supper, a short business meeting was held for the election of officers for the coming year. Roger L. Johnson '25, was elected President, Robert Munson '14, Vice President, and Len Dunn '27, Secy.-Treas., all of Richmond.
Captain Paul J. Halloran 'l9, U.S.N, gave a brief coverage of his experiences during World War II and especially mentioned the several meetings of Dartmouth Alumni, as many as 23 at one time, in his quarters at Tinian in the Pacific. The Captain suggested and it was unanimously accepted, that all present match their annual dues with the same amount to be sent from this meeting to the Hopkins War Memorial Fund.
Commander Sterling Wilson 'l6, USNR, summarized his travels in World War II and told of what he thought was the southernmost meeting of Dartmouth alumni at the Straits of Magellan.
Men were present from Norfolk, Newport News, Hampton, Hopewell, and Winchester, Va. as well as 6 from our Washington, D. C. Club. The Quartette from Washington, Sterling Wilson '16, Larry Pope '18, Page Worthington '33, Dave McCoy '17, with Winnie Hobbs '33 accompanying, were in especially good voice.
