Scheduled for the 1947 Christmas trade are: a RCA Rudolph record album; a new deluxe edition of the Rudolph book; a 17-inch stuffed Rudolph toy; a box of three Rudolph jig-sawpuzzles; a sterling silver Rudolph charm; Rudolph slippers; and Rudolph sweat shirts and "Tee" shirts for children.
Also, planned for 1948 are a Max Fleischer color cartoon from Hollywood; a Red-Nosed Reindeer game; a Rudolph flashlight (with a red nose); a Rudolph lamp; Rudolph Christmas cards; a Rudolph school-bag; Rudolph dinnerware; a Rudolph muff; Rudolph highball glasses; and Rudolph film strips.
Rudolph, the story of a reindeer whose red nose gives him an inferiority complex but who saves the day (and night) for Santa Claus, was written byMay in 1939 for Montgomery Ward as a give-away book. It ran through two editions of 5,841,016 copies. Last year Montgomery Ward transferred the copyright and royalty privileges to May.
