The annual meeting for the election of officers held at the L’Hirondelle Club on July 11 was attended by 26 alumni. Classes from 1914 to 1960 were present, as well as members from scattered and distant places throughout Maryland. After cocktails and dinner new officers were elected. MatthewC. Fenton III ’49 succeeds George V. Parkhurst’30 as President. Joseph P. Searing’33 replaces John H. Wolf III ’50 as Treasurer, and John was elected Program Vice President. Charles H. Armes ’34 was elected to continue his excellent work as Interviewing Vice President. F. Scott Corey ’57 succeeds Edwin B. Jarrett Jr. ’54 as Secretary.
The outgoing officers can take pride in a year of accomplishments. Everyone of the year’s varied meetings were popular suc- cesses. Some 63 of the 70 dues paying mem- bers attended at least one meeting during the year. This does not include the standing room only Glee Club Concert, or the winter cocktail party.
The meeting was also highlighted by a re- port on the latest doings in Hanover by N. Page Worthington ’33, Alumni Counsellor from this area and Chairman of the Na- tional Enrollment Committee. After reports by the outgoing officers, good fellowship was resumed in the bar.
