A late word from Ilsley brings the news that he will attend the 55th "if circumstances permit." He doesn't seem too hopeful, so put in a good word with him if you can. We would surely be glad to see him for he hasn't been able to join us at a Reunion for a long long time. He reports that he was automatically retired from Government service last April but was held over until July to finish up some urgent work. He thought he could enjoy a leisurely life then but found, as most of us have, that wife and family can find plenty to keep one busy. In September he took some work at Alexandria, Va., making plans for a large cement products plant—and is still at it.
On December third Mrs. Lamprey, having decided to take a little vacation in New York, drove her auto away from their home in Sudbury, Mass. Three miles up the road a big buck deer dashed out of the woods, landed at full speed on the front of the car, bent the mudguard, broke a headlight, and smashed the radiator. Charley writes no 1941 radiators can be located anywhere; hence no car for an indefinite period. Have you a 1941 radiator you don't need?
Room assignments have been made at the Hanover Inn for most of the class who expect to be at the 55th, and plans are shaping up well all along the line. There is a good time coming.
