Alumni Statistics

ACCORDING TO THE January report of Miss - Charlotte Ford, alumni recorder, the total number of living Dartmouth alumni is now 23,633. The College's very efficient Alumni Records Office has lost track of only 233 of this total, and 22,822 are on the active mailing list.

The overall figure is broken down into 14,516 living graduates of the College, 6,430 living non-graduates, 1,174 members of the Dartmouth Navy Alumni Association (as of 1945-46), 271 Medical School alumni, 23 Thayer School alumni; 58 Tuck School alumni, 56 holders of advanced degrees, 72 special students, 134 recipients of honorary degrees, and 101 recipients of faculty honorary degrees.

The oldest living graduate of the College is Charles G. Johnson '71, who was 98 years old last July 4. Others among the oldest living ten are Frank P. Shepard '75, aged 96; Hervey A. Tarbell '78, aged 93; Charles C. Towle '75, aged 93; Frank M. McCut- cheon '76, aged 93; Henry G. Peabody '76, aged 91; William R. Tillotson '77, aged 90; Lewis Parkhurst '78, aged 90; Clifford H. Smith '79, aged 90; and Tilton C. H. Bouton '78, aged 90.
