THE SEVEN ALUMNI COUNCIL DISTRICTS of the country have completed nominations to fill vacancies this spring. Alumni clubs and associations are empowered to submit nominations for vacancies in their areas. Of the twelve District terms expiring June 30, the names of seven present Councillors who are eligible for reelection have been submitted without contest. Three new members have been chosen to fill the remaining vacancies in uncontested nominations.
Service on the Council for District members is limited to two successive terms of two years each. The following were declared elected by Sidney C. Hayward '26, Secretary of the General Association of Alumni, when nominations closed March 10:
DISTRICT I: John G. Nelson '13, Manchester, reelected for a second term. To fill the vacancy caused by expiration of the second term of John S. Everett 'OB of Hallowell, Maine, two nominations have been made and there will be a mail ballot election this spring to determine this position in the New England States. The two nominees are Charles B. Rice '23 of Hartford and John Parker '29 of Bath, Maine.
DISTRICT II: Roswell Magill '16, New York City, reelected for a second term; and Hugh A. Johnson '30, Buffalo, reelected for a second term.
DISTRICT III: To fill the vacancy caused by expiration of the second term of Edwin R. Keeler '11 of Chicago, two nominations have been made and there will be a mail ballot election this spring to determine this position in the Central States. The two nominees are Robert C. Borwell '25 of Chicago and James E. Traquair '26 of Cincinnati.
DISTRICT IV: Francis A. Robinson 'OB, Des Moines, reelected for a second term; and Arthur S. Dunning '11, St. Paul, reelected for a second term.
DISTRICT V: Frederick L. Pearce '15, Washington, reelected for a second term; and William H. Marsh Jr. '31, Atlanta, reelected for a second term.
DISTRICT VI: George J. Winger '25, Kansas City, elected for a first term to succeed Dwight J. Edson 'lB, Houston; and Merrill E. Shoup '2l, Colorado Springs, elected for a first term to succeed Philo W. Grimes '28, Tulsa.
DISTRICT VII: To fill the vacancy caused by expiration of the second term of James J. Norton 'OB of Los Angeles, two nominations have been made and there will be a mail ballot election this spring to determine this position in the Western States. The two nominees are Walter D. Douglas II '31 of Los Angeles and James C. Flagg '89 of San Diego.
