Below is quoted the citation awarded George W. Provost '27 for his achievement among the Class Agents of the last 20 classes. It was read at the Class Agents New York Dinner, March 19.

"The Harvey P. Hood Trophy for all-around achievement among the last twenty classes is this year awarded to an agent and a class whose performance during the 1946 campaign earned them unique distinction on several counts. This agent, through his deft and unobstrusive leadership, and the . class, through their wide and generous participation, won their Green Derby contest, stood third in terms of participation, showed the greatest improvement, led all others in their group in terms of per cent of objective, and by giving to Dartmouth the sum of $16,531 broke all previous records for gifts by a single class in a single year.

"In recognition of the leadership of this agent, the generosity of this class and the services rendered to the Col- lege by their joint efforts, the Alumni Fund Committee awards this trophy for 1946 to GEORGE WATSON PROVOST of the Class of 1927 and presents him with a copy of Professor Richardson's 'History of Dartmouth College' as a permanent expression of admiration for his excellence."
