Albert E. M. Louer (left), Head Agent for the Class of 1926, received the Fred A. Howland Alumni Fund Award from Alumni Fund Chairman Richard D. Lombard '53 at a meeting of the Chicago Alumni Association on April 16. The following citation accompanied the award:
Returning for his third term as Head Agent in 1967 after two previous stints in 1937-41 and 1947-51, Al Louer proved that he had not lost the magic touch which had helped him lead 1926 to four previous Green Derby victories and to never miss its dollar goal under his leadership. The class has raised over $60,000 in each of the past three years and in 1969 led all classes in total dollars. This, coupled with a contributor increase in a year when only ten classes gained in this category, yielded a well-deserved Green Derby win in 1969. Through his diligent work and scrupulous attention to detail, Al Louer has made sure that 1926 lives up to its fine potential in the Alumni Fund and it is with great pleasure that the Alumni Fund Committee presents him with the Fred A. Howland Trophy as the outstanding Head Agent of a class more than forty years out of College.
