THE GARDEN CITY Country Club (Garden City, Long Island) was the scene of considerable Hanoverian gaiety (and for many, a preview of Reunion) on Saturday evening, May 3, as the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Long Island held its first dance since before Pearl Harbor.

More than 300 alumni, their wives, and friends made merry during the fun-packed evening, and there is little doubt that only the telephone strike kept the attendance from being half again as much. Rudy Preuss '27 and Willard Doyle '33 ran off with two of the door prizes, two others including the lucky number dance prize going to guests.

Elwood Doyle '36, chairman of the entertainment committee, ably assisted by Ed Warnke '18 and Mel Katz '33, was responsible for arranging the excellent evening.

Those attending included H. E.' Bowman '14, Harry Collins '17, Ed Warnke '18, Cliff Hart '21, Per Johnson '26, Joe Creamer '27, Sam Wormser '27, Jack Roe '27, Gene Sullivan '27, Johnny Shaw '27, Rudy Preuss '27, M. J. The association's executive committee is losing no time in making plans for an early summer party, an idea heartily approved by the membership. Members will be receiving an announcement shortly on this affair.

Meanwhile, any alumni living anywhere in the geographical confines of Long Island, who have not been receiving the club's announcements, are urged to forward their address to Mel Katz, chairman of the membership committee, at Cedar Avenue, Hewlett, L. I. Those members who have overlooked their dues payments may send their eight bits to Guy Bostwick, c/o New York Telephone Co., 199 Fulton Avenue, Hempstead, L. I.
