No, the class of 1986 has not been disowned by the College. Nor have any'86s done anything so outrageously hideous, heinous, for fun that we have been censored by the Alumni Magazine editors. The class of'B6 is still in good standing with the College, but its class secretary is not. Sorry about disappointing the loyal Class Notes readers by not submitting an article last month. Hopefully you made good use of the extra two minutes freed up by not having an article to read. Did you decide to call your mother-in-law or do a few more sit-ups? Or did you squander the extra two minutes watching a TV commercial? Nothing too dramatic prevented me from submitting the article. No once-in-a-life-time activity such as being attacked by space aliens or a herd of women distracted me.
Weddings and engagements are still in fashion amongst 'B6s. Amanda Reed is engaged to Lieutenant Allen Bates of the U.S. Navy. No wedding date has been set, but spring 1990 looks likely. Jeni Moyer married Steve George in Atlanta on March 4. Peter Gibson became engaged to Margie Wallace '88 in December. Hastings Law students Greg Nerland and Lynn Tracy will be married at AQ in Hanover this August after Greg takes the California bar exam. He has given up the idea of working with common criminals and instead has set his sights on prosecuting (or was it defending?) America's corporate robber barons. Lynn still has one year of school left.
You might recall that a few months ago Carrie Sheehan refused to disclose any details of her love life. She claimed that nothing too newsworthy was happening in the way of romance. Well, now it turns out that Carrie is engaged to John, a fellow banker at the Bank of Boston. Why was she so tight-lipped? Could it be that she didn't want Smedley to know about John? Or was she just worried that once she got talking she would mention some of the seduction maneuvers she was attempting to lure in John?
Lisa Oestreicher Williams recently moved to Boston with her husband, Lou. She will work as a head hunter. Chris Wolf will be studying business at Cornell starting in the fall.
You probably expected more news after a several month absence, but final exams and a job search have kept me from doing any snooping for stories.
