At a dinner at the Algonquin Club of Boston on April 10, 1947, tendered by his classmates at which were present Clarence E. Allen, Leslie A. Bull, Fletcher P. Burton, Charles J. Fay, Gay Gleason, Thornton W. Jenness, Irving F. Jewett, Arthur H. Lord, Robert E. Parker, Leland Powers and Edmund J. Shattuck, there was presented to Harold P. Hinman, the secretary for many years of the Class of 1910, a beautiful Gorham sterling silver tray carrying the following inscription: PRESENTED TO "HAP" HINMAN BY HIS CLASSMATES IN APPRECIATION OF HIS DEVOTION TO THE CLASS OF 1910 DARTMOUTH COLLEGE APRIL 1947
At the dinner there were read many telegrams from fellow classmates throughout the country expressing their gratitude for the efficient and untiring service rendered the Class of 1910 by its perennial secretary.
This is probably the first news item relative to the Class of 1910 not reported by "Hap" Hinman in more than 35 years.
