THE FIRST POSTWAR dinner meeting of the Dartmouth Club of Western Connecticut was held last night at Hugo's Restaurant, with 40 members in attendance, one of the largest turnouts in the club's history. EverettE. Robie '17, secretary-treasurer of the group, presided.
Dave Camerer, tackle on the 1937 Dartmouth team that defeated Yale for the first time, and now sports editor of PIC, and LattaMcCray, guard on the same team, spoke of their experiences with the Dartmouth teams, and of recent trends in college athletics. J. Walter Kennedy, who spoke on the topic "Trends, Policies and Practices in Intercollegiate Athletics Today" flayed present intercollegiate athletic recruiting practices, which he said were conducted in a "hypocritical manner" and stated that the time had come to divide the amateurs and the professionals before the entire structure of college athletics was broken down beyond repair.
