On August xo, 1948 various members of the Executive Committee wended their way through Hyde Park and eventually found the home of the President, Lew Johnstone, on Avery Lane. Bill Portman had some difficulty with his compass bearings and arrived late after some untold number of beers had already been consumed.
Lew brought the business of the evening forward and we proceeded to discuss the fall outing, to be held September 10. Jack Herrick explained the details of the proposed location at the CAC in Ludlow, Ky. Although Jack has been to the CAC for many company outings it still remains a mystery as to the meaning of the initials. In addition to the regular Alumni Club members we have also invited the incoming freshmen of the class of 1952 consisting of John Funke and Kennon Heusinkveld, both of Cincinnati, George Moerlein of Hamilton and George Skillman of Middletown. The club extends its hospitality to Sherman Davis '44, who is in Cincinnati for several months with the Pennsylvania Railroad, and William Harris '42, working with the Kirkpatrick Lumber Cos.
At the committee meeting Bob Keeler and Vance Clark had further discussion of a possible gathering this fall for a football game which would be televised, telegraphed, telephoned or delivered by runner from Hanover. Vance is going to investigate further the various means of communication so that more color can be added to local reception of the game.
The Club is again hoping to act as host this spring to the Glee Club, which we understand is to be bigger and better. We hope that Warner Bentley can come through with a desirable date for the concert this spring.
