THE ASPENS ARE TURNING up here in the Rockies! It's the season of blue hazy evenings, sharp clear nights, and wonderful frosty mornings—reminds one of Hanover.

There was a note of sadness in our midst this summer. Chuck Hilliker's wife passed away. Our feeble words cannot convey to Chuck the deep sympathy which we all feel.

There's a fine gang of stalwarts GOING BACK this fall: Bill Spoor '46, Ed Nicholson '49, Don Brown '50, John Carleton '50, Dick Catron '50, John Rogers '50, Howard Bissell '51, "Duke" Carey '51, Bob Cohen '51, Bob Fullerton '51, Bob Hackstaff '51, John Jacobey '51, Bob Kent '51, "Casey" McKibben '51, Fred Carleton, Jr. '52, Jack Clow '52, Steve Cowperthwaite '52, Joe Dobos '52, George Gibson '52, Charles Knudson '52, Bob Linger '52, Jerry More '52, Bill Scott '52, and Jim Shepherd '52. We'll be watching you lucky gentlemen. Keep us posted on Life in Hanover!

Space is limited but we can't say the same for the activities of the Great Divide. Mind your hats and hold fast to your seats, we're off! da-di-di-da (Winchell style?). BOISTEROUS "stag" picnic at the Ned Grant '30 farm July 21. You must all have been therecounted 75 and stopped from exhaustion! HILARIOUS (are we never sedate?) "dear" picnic on Genesee Mountain September 11. At this writing said date has not arrivedbut we speak from experience—it will be a real Colorado Picnic: campfire, stars, pine needles, soft singing and tall stories! da-di-dida: September 15. Luncheon at D.A.C. to wish undergraduates "Bon Voyage and God Speed"! Reservations have been made for eighty! On same date your executive commit tee will present a revised charter and a new set of by-laws, purpose of same being to divide the fun of working among the many.

The following standing committees will be established: (Read the list carefully and advise us on which one you prefer to serve!) Finance; Entertainment; Luncheons; Publicity: Vocational. John McDonough '28 has been appointed chairman of this committee and has done an excellent job this summer. CharlieGearhart '28 and Norrie Williamson '26 are the other members to date; and the Admissions Committee; this last has 5 sub-committees: interviewing, educational, schools, scholarship, and entertainment. Finally there is a provision for a Squaws Committee—nuff said. It's more fun than you'd guess. Call Prexy Will Grant Jr. '31 (Ta. 5111) and tell him on which committee you'll serve.

NEW "DIVIDERS": Dr. Bill Curtis '36 from St. Louis—now with Drs. Wasson and Bouslog in radiology. Ed Brunhoff '47 from Cincinnati, now with Colorado Builders Sup- ply Cos.

OTHER DOPE(s): Chap Cranmer '40will be married this fall. Carol and Jack Gray '37 have a new son. Thad Smith '31 is now in the legal department of Conoco. Fletch Thomas '46 is engaged to our favorite singer Marge Waggener. Bob March '47 elected president of the Peddi Club of Colorado (they study Petti drawings). Ralph Van Zant '10 of Chicago was in Denver for a few days. Ken Montgomery '25 of Chicago was up at Estes. Dr. Bill Wierman '43 and Laura Dumm were married in August. Marnie and Larry Jump '36 have a new home in Georgetown. Dr. JohnNelson '32 was selected by the United States Government (out of hundreds) to go to Germany for a month as a civilian consultant. Dr. Earl Cranston, Dartmouth Prof, of Religion, spoke in Denver in July. Baxter Lanius '42 is in Washington with the Diplomatic Service.

Last but not least, at this writing Dartmouth has three candidates running in the various political races: for U. S. Senator from Colorado— Will Nicholson '22, for Denver District Judge—Jim Sabin 'si, and for Denver District Attorney—one of the Association's outstanding young men—Dick Shaw '39.

The next LUNCHEON will be Friday, October 29, at the D.A.C. It would be an understatement to say that something special is planned!
