THE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS GET-TOGETHER between Delaware undergraduates and Delaware alumni was held December 29, as a luncheon at the Hob restaurant in Wilmington.
Considering the hectic aspects of the holiday season, there was a fine turnout at which almost thirty alumni gathered to salute five undergraduates and "get the word" from the Big Green country. It was good, too, for each of the five gave a few well-chosen words about fine skiing and college life that struck a nostalgic chord in the hearts of all of us who have to work for a living. Plans are now underway for two other winter events; a cocktail party for alumni and their wives, and the regular stag dinner affair in March.
As with every thing else these days, the law of supply and demand deeply affects the fate of applicants for the class of '52 this fall. But that doesn't mean from present indications that there won't be plenty of Delaware lads who want to start at Hanover this fall.
The undergraduates present at the luncheon were: Bob Woodhouse '51, Edgar Miller Jr. '51, Jim Martel '50, Bob Lindell '50, and Bob Warren, prospective '52.
Those alumni present were: Dick Joslin '37, Henry Bryan '34, Paul Hessler '36, Bob Brown '38, John Dingle '37, John Dingle Sr. '10, A 1 Fraser '39, Bruce Gillie '39, Ed Nolle '40 (Welcome to Delaware!), Bill Smith '30, Rad Kilbourne '30, Breck De Riemer '34, Jim Corner '39, Burke Welldon '38, Lew Munson '2B, Tom Herlihy '26, Bob Warren '25, Fred Watson '30, Cliff Gammons 'l6, Edward Bartlett '08, Russ Fisher '17, and John Woodhouse '21.
