As we go to press, Coach Michael's charges have participated in only two contests, both of which they won handily. They opened against Bowdoin on December 13 by the score of 40-35, after which they disposed of R.P.I, by the score of 42-33. A meet with Syracuse immediately after the holidays was postponed at the request of the latter institution. The backstrokers and breaststrokers were outstanding in each encounter, with Dana Jackson winning the backstroke in both meets and Jay Urstadt similarly coming through in the breaststroke. Sophomore Steve Pollak lived up to expectations by winning the 50-yard freestyle in both meets, also coming in ahead in the 100 against R.P.I. These early encounters are only warm-ups for the League schedule that gets under way shortly. Coach Michael and his men are keeping their fingers crossed in the hope of again attaining the exalted position of second place which they reached last year.
