HARTFORD'S loyal alumni gathered on Thursday evening, April 12, for their spring meeting. This was one of the most successful turnouts we have had in a good many years. The usual perennials were there and in addition many new faces. For the first time, fathers of the more recent graduates were invited to attend, and although they didn t respond in droves, enough showed up to indicate a very definite interest, and the experiment will be carried further. Some 75 persons in all were seated at a well-served dinner at the Hartford Golf Club.

After the usual cocktails and dinner, the gathering adjourned to the club living room where the remainder of the program was carried on. Bob Hage started the session with a talk on the Hopkins Center Project. He had with him his inevitable model and gave forth with the usual interesting talk on the highlights of the building and the progress of the campaign. Following Bob's talk we saw the latest Dartmouth film entitled "Hanover, 1947." It was good, probably the best college film most of us remember seeing.

Dean Neidlinger was the feature attraction. Pudge talked briefly and most informatively on the problems of the privately endowed college of today as far as financing was concerned. His talk was not a super sales appeal for funds, but rather that of informing Dartmouth graduates of one of the most pressing problems the College has to meet today. The meeting adjourned after Pudge answered some questions from the audience.

Many Hartford folks will have attended the state meeting in Bridgeport, May 4. In June, the club will meet again for the annual beerbaseball game. We have challenged the New Britain Club in what we hope will turn into a yearly home and home affair.
