THIS WILL BE mainly in the form of a report of Forty-Four's Frivolous Fifth reunion. First of all a vote of thanks should go to the reunion committee, which was under the capable direction of Al How land and whose members included Jack Jenness,Horace Blood, Jack Lovewell, Andy McDowell, Karl "Moose" Musser, and DaveWrisley. Unfortunately Al and "Moose" were the only ones able to be present at the fruits of their labors. Horace was on his way to the Republican Convention in Philadelphia to act as a Sgt.-at-Arms, having completed his internship at Mary Hitchcock. He is planning to take Ear, Nose, and Throat training at the Manhatten Eye and Ear Infirmary next year. Andy is now working for Eastman-Kodak, and "Moose" just graduated from Tuck School. Jack Jenness is working for U.S. Rubber in Naugatuck, Conn., and in addition is going to take over permanently the editorship of the '44 Newsletter. At this point, it seems appropriate also to announce that Bob A."Twister" Miller was elected the new Secretary-Chairman of the class and Gus Pratt, Treasurer. Don Pfeifle, who recently did such an excellent job of organizing a '44 dinner at the Dartmouth Club in N.Y.C., has accepted the position of Class Agent, replacing "Boge" Bogart. (It should be mentioned that our present paid-up class dues are good for another year, so that the present dues including subscriptions to the ALUMNI MAGAZINE run until June, 1949.) The new Executive Committee is comprised by Gus Pratt, John Roberts, "Boge"Bogart, Bob Miller, Bill Harrison, MacMcLond, Al Howland, Whit Wells, JackHaffenreffer, Ed Roewer, and Dave Merrill. An attempt was made by the nominating committee to secure an adequate geographical distribution for the Executive Committee. It is hoped that they will be active in their various areas in promoting regional '44 get-togethers. Our congratulations and best wishes for success go to this new set of class officers.

Doc Fielding's antics and music by that wandering (from reunion tent to tent, that is) minstrel, Karl Rood, considerably enlivened the evening gatherings about kegs from Tanzis. On Sunday of reunion weekend a Memorial Service in honor of the war dead of the classes of '43 and '44 was held jointly with the Class of '43 in the Bema, and was favored by excellent weather. We were privileged to hear Don Oakes deliver a splendid address. Don graduates this month from Harvard Divinity School. He is planning to be married in September.
It was voted unanimously at the class meeting to offer honorary membership in the Class of 1944 to the living fathers of the above men. A Class Memorial Committee is soon to be appointed. Any suggestions as to a suitable memorial should be addressed to our new secretary, Bob Miller.
