ROSWELL F. MAGILL '16 of New York was elected to succeed Karl W. Koeniger '17 of Newark, N. J., as president of the Alumni Council at its annual spring meeting held June 17-18 in Hanover with 27 present and 24 past members in attendance. Arthur S. Dunning '11 of St. Paul was named vice president and Sidney C. Hayward '26 of Hanover was re-elected secretary. Wilbur W. Bullen '22 of Boston and William H. Morton '32 of New York were elected members-at-large for three years. John W. Hubbell '21 of New York was re-electetl a member of the Athletic Council for three years and John P. Carleton '22 of Manchester, N. H., was named alumni representative on the Dartmouth Outing Club Board of Trustees for one year to fill the unexpired term of John R. McLane '07, also of Manchester, who has resigned.
At its first meeting in Sanborn House June 17, the Council approved the following new Alumni Clubs: Dartmouth Club of Phoenix, Ariz.; Nashoba Dartmouth Club (Ft. Devens, Mass.); Southern Tier Alumni Club (Elmira, N. Y.); Dartmouth Club of Eastern Oklahoma (Tulsa); Dartmouth Club of Western Oklahoma (Oklahoma City); Dartmouth Club of Tacoma, Wash.; and Dartmouth Club of China (Shanghai).
A discussion of the admissions problem was led by Albert I. Dickerson '30, director of Admissions, and Edward T. Chamberlain '36, assistant director. An informal report on the state of the College was given by President Dickey.
