It's cool up here on the Great Divide! We send to the other Clubs our best wishes for the summer—and our sympathy. The most important date on the Great Divide's SUMMER schedule is Wednesday, JULY TWENTYFIRST. Beginning at 3 p.m., all Dartmouth MEN west of the Connecticut and east of Iwo Jima will stage their one thousandth (check my figures) ANNUAL Picnic at Ned Grant's Farm, Littleton, Colorado (enough of the you-know-what, here are the COLD FACTS): Cy Allen '45, Chairman, along with Bill Berge '45, Don Campbell '46 and NedGrant '3O have prepared for everything—including 75 MEN (the only ladies present will be the cows and entertainers, if any). The UNDERGRADUATES and those sterling youngsters just admitted to the Class of 1952 are, and will be, most welcome. We look forward to Ralph Knight '07 and Chuck Thompson '12 running their respective ball teams.
The Committee has one request: Advise the committee IMMEDIATELY of the name of anyone in our Club capable of playing a banjo, uke, accordian or some similar gadget. Nothing is too important to keep you away from the Picnic!
No monthly luncheons are planned during the summer but the Annual Undergraduate Luncheon will be held early in September. LAST GASP (until Fall): It's your good fortune: Fred Carleton 'lB elected President of Colorado Accountants Society. Prexy WillGrant '31 is chairman of the Mayor's newlyappointed Committee on Human Relations (we assume this has some connection with the Ivy League's football schedule). Harry Litzenberger '32 Secretary-Treasurer of H. H. Tammen Co., appointed to same committee. Bob(Red) Harvey '38 from Atchison, Kansas, was in Denver in May (wife and two offspring in tow) visiting Pete and Gladie Alexander '40. Bob is now with Calvin Bullock, investment trusts. Kennard P. Perry is back in town after receiving his degree from the Tuck School of Business. Charles Cunningham '48, son of Don 'l3, graduated this June but will be back in Hanover next fall for his second year in Med School.
YOUR GAIN: The following scholarly gentlemen have agreed to serve as bellringers and to assist in notifying you of important coming events. Each covers several classes—please listen politely when they telephone: FredLong—l9oo-1911; Gilbert McDonough—l9l2-1915; Everett Parker—1916-1920; Dud Smith 1921-1927; Charlie Gearhart-1928-1931; HarryLitzenberger—l932-1935; Chap Cranmer 1936-1940; Jim Barr—l94l-1943 and BillBerge—i 944-1947
