WHICH is MORE LIKELY to come about in America-COMMUNISM or FASCISM? Eleven years ago this month the then senior class answered: Fascism (80%); Communism (10%); Neither (10%). We wish that our recent visitor Dr. Robert Carr '29 of the Department of Government could have stayed longer and provided us with a real "Hanover Holiday" covering the current International issues. Maybe next year—what think ye?

But DR. CARR was FINE and made the Annual Dinner on March 23 a great success. Apparently Bob enjoyed himself, too. He writes:

"I still haven't gotten over the wonderful time you people showed me in Denver. My visit with you was certainly one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had and I know I will remember it a long time."

There were over SIXTY AT DINNER, in-cluding: Orm Birkland '43 Dr. H. R. Bradford '35 Wilbur H. Bradford '33 Dr. Larry Bromfield '14 Fred C. Brooks 'l0 Henry Buchtel '28 Ralph Burgess '15 Fred Carleton '18 Prof. Robert K. Carr '29 Nevin Carson '23 Dr. Bill Condon '29 Fred Cranston '14 Dr. D. Cunningham '13 John Cunningham '1B Dr. Ira Dixson '23 Bruce Espy '40 Wilson Evans '33 Dr. Cal Fisher '32 Charlie Gearhart '28 W. W. Grant '03 Jack Gray '37, Dud Green '25 Cy Hackstaff, Sr. Henry Harrison '10 A 1 Hessler '40 Chuck Hilliker '18 Ralph Knight '07 Harry Lewis '29 Harry Litzenberger '32 Fred Long 'll J. C. Mahoney '07 Bob March '46 B. W. Matteson '03 L. E. McDonald '26 Gil McDonough '14 John McDonough '28 Gil McDowell '46 Don McKinlay '37 Bob More '13 Everett Parker '16 Ralph Rickenbaugh '28 Dr. Bill Scott '42 Dick Shaw '39 Ed Small '41 Dud Smith '25 Thad Smith '31 Bill Temple '42 Charles Thompson '12 Eddie Toothaker '32 Bob Welborn '40 Dr. S. Wheelock '40 Norrie Williamson '26 Jerry Wood '24

President Fred Long '11 was his usual gracious self and had the meeting well in hand until Bob More '13 and Jack Gray '37 with the help of Dick Shaw '39 railroaded in a new set of officers. Norrie Williamson '26 read an essay on "eager beavers" (we think his wife wrote it). To our College Trustee, W. W. Grant 'O3 (of many talents) fell the honor of introducing Bob Carr. Dr. Carr's resume of the Hanover Scene was at the same time delightful and thought-provoking. If Fred hadn't called a halt we'd still be there popping questions—it was such good fun watching Bob Carr handle them.

March 24, the Denver Scholarship and Interviewing Committees entertained at lunch eight HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPALS. Eighteen had been invited covering the area from Colorado Springs to Boulder. Note: 30 prep and high school boys were interviewed this fall and winter. By the time you read this we should have heard from the College who have been accepted for admission. New Officers of The Great Divide elected at the Annual Meeting are: Will Grant '31, President; Eddie Toothaker '32, Vice-President; NorrieWilliamson '26, Treasurer; and Don McKinlay '37, Secretary.

SILVER DOLLAR ERA coming: JohnMcDonough '28 is leading the campaign in Denver. John gives them to friends as souvenirs. (See you at the Albany!) Bill Heroy '37 of Dallas, Texas, a seismograph expert, was in town searching for black gold. LennyWoods '42 headlined the social news. He and Anina Paepcke are engaged. She's the daughter of Walter ASPEN Paepcke. Dayton McKean (Dartmouth Prof.) will teach at Boulder this summer. Dartmouth HOCKEY GAMES at the Springs drew over a hundred from Denver. Hope for more such next year.

LUNCHEONS at Denver Athletic Club last Friday each month.
