PRESIDENT EMERITUS HOPKINS still represents the College at an occasional academic gathering and, getting ready to set off to one, he dropped by the Ad Building one day to pick up a small suitcase that icely holds his cap and gown and whichever of his fifteen Doctor's hoods he prefers to wear. After some searching by Miss Cleaveland the suitcase was located in a supply closet, but it seemed strangely heavy. And no wonder, for inside were two hatchets, a pistol and a dagger.
"It's a frame-up," exclaimed Mr. Hopkins, naturally failing to remember when he had last used the suitcase.
The mystery has never been entirely cleared up, but the best guess is that the College gendarmerie confiscated the lethal weapons from students and cached them in Mr. Hopkins' suitcase—attracted, no doubt, by its shiny patent-leather exterior and the fact that it's a handy size for lots of things.
